HISTORY OF MY DRINK SYSTEMS
I began the search for the perfect hydration solution way back in 2001 before my first race at the Speight's Coast to Coast. I wanted to be able to carry a sufficient amount of sports drink without having the added weight of a camelbak bladder on my shoulders compromising paddling efficiency and comfort throughout the duration of the Kayak stage. Finding nothing on the market that directly suited my needs - I got busy designing and creating!
The systems I make, sell and use myself have your hydration needs carried low in the hull of your boat freeing up weight from your upper body and shoulders making your paddle stroke more efficient and comfortable, as a 2l bladder on your back =2kg of weight you don't really need on your shoulders limiting you efficiency. My single bladder systems have a capacity of 3l and the dual bladder system doubles this - these are the ideal set up for races where you want to use sports drink and meal replacement or similar together such as the Coast to Coast longest day.
The systems have an easy velcro attachment block which makes for fast and effective transitions, and in the unlikely event of a swim.... the hose attachment block comes away safe and easy if you exit the boat during your swim/roll over!
The systems I make and sell are tried and true, having been refined by myself over the years of multisport racing, these systems have been successfully used by many other multisport athletes throughout NZ in many different multisport races and various paddling missions.
